Mark Selkrig 'All a Bit Strange: Views of Academic Life and the Modern Work Paradox'
Exhibition Dates June 2nd to 13th
Opening night Thursday 4th June, 5.30 - 7.30pm
This exhibition presents a series of finely detailed woodblock prints exploring the absurdities and contradictions that pervade contemporary working life. Drawing on the carnivalesque tradition, Selkrig uses humour and sharp social observation to reflect on bureaucracy, ambition, and the search for meaning. These images reveal paradoxical dimensions words cannot, capturing the tensions between individual desires and institutional constraints. Influenced by satirical print traditions, these prints invite close viewing while offering witty and insightful glimpses filtered through the often-strange facets of modern academic and other professional work cultures.
