Tabitha Hocking
Across an entire year, Tabitha Hocking created a work of art every day through her first year of motherhood. Driven by a need to preserve a vital part of her identity during a time of profound change, Hocking committed to dedicating time each day for her artistic practice—an essential lifeline amid the demands of caring for a newborn.
Equally, these works serve as a visual journal, mapping both her transformation as a mother and her son’s first year on Earth. Each artwork features handwritten reflections on its reverse, offering intimate daily insights that artfully document the subtle nuances of each day lived.
Presented as circles in acrylic, watercolour, ink, fineliner, colour pencil and mixed media.
