Dean Bowen (b. 1957, Maryborough, Victoria) is a Melbourne-based painter, printmaker, and sculptor known for his whimsical, expressive depictions of the Australian landscape, urban life, and native wildlife. His vibrant works—featuring birds, animals, children, and suburban scenes—blend humour, warmth, and a sense of wonder.
A graduate of RMIT and Monash University, Bowen has held over 90 solo exhibitions in Australia, Europe, Japan, and the UK, with works represented in more than 70 major public collections, including the National Gallery of Australia and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. He has completed numerous public sculpture commissions and received national and international awards.
