She holds a BA Honours Degree in Advertising and Visual Communication (1994) and went on to lecture in Graphic Design History & Techniques, History of Art, and Still Life & Figure Drawing at Potchefstroom University and East London Technical College (South Africa) from 1995 to 1996.

In 2016, she transitioned to full-time artmaking, launching a fine art career that has since included over 50 gallery exhibitions, among them 13 solo shows.

In 2021, Lana initiated Superimposed, an annual printmakers’ project for Victorian artists. The innovative ‘printmakers’ game’ was funded again for 2023/2024, further cementing her commitment to fostering creativity and collaboration in the arts community (superimposed.com.au | @superimposed2023).
